I wouldn’t recommend waiting till the HG pukes. When it goes you’re likely not going to be home and will need to be towed besides having to pay someone else to work on it

Of everything on this list by FAR the most important few would be monitoring egt’s (as well as transmission and engine temps of course), get good fuel (you get crap fuel that is full of water one time and you won’t have to learn this lesson again), and check your fluids. Going a little long on an oil change as long as your oil level is full will do much much less damage than running your engine with low oil levels. If you starve bearings or rings or lifters you can start counting down to a rebuild.

I have a 2020 RAM 3500 Tradesman with Cummins and Aisin Transmission and it comes originally at 400hp, but I am currently installing an engine from a 2022 2500 Laramie that originally comes at 370hp, but I plan to leave my ECM on it. Can you tell me which is the best option for me please? Thank you.

Pro tip, if you're smoking after your tune, your tune is dogshit. Your truck should not be rolling coal. Don't be a dumbass that bumps up the fuel to get HP. That fries your engine.
